For the release of Malaysian comedy horror film “Takut Ke Tak,” GSC Movies turned to influencer marketing in order to promote it to local audiences.

“Takut Ke Tak” hashtag challenge with Malaysia influencers on TikTok
Riding on the virality of TikTok hashtag challenges, GSC Movies created the #takutketakdance challenge on TikTok. For this TikTok campaign, GSC Movies partnered with three Malaysian influencers – Nick Syaf (@onlynicksyaf), Isya Norsham (@ishanorsham) and Mia Sara Shauki (@samiarash) – to promote the challenge and encourage users to join. And to make it more rewarding for participants, they rewarded the most creative dance video entry with a new iPhone 11.

GSC invites influencers to “Takut Ke Tak” premiere
To further their influencer marketing effort, they enlisted Malaysian influencers to provide movie reviews. They invited 10 influencers to the movie premiere of “Takut Ke Tak” premier show before they posted their respective movie reviews on Instagram and encouraged their followers to watch the movie too. The influencers they collaborated with included @khareezkasbulah, @zerahariz, @_midnightrina, @signorinasara_, and @shatiraamanda, among others.
