Century Battery Malaysia hypes up its ongoing Facebook contest with a TikTok campaign and a collaboration with a famous Malaysian TikTok influencer.
To raise awareness and engagement, the automotive battery brand collaborated with Sterk Production to produce a catchy 40-second video starring the influencer. The video was then promoted on TikTok as in-feed video ads.
It was also shared and boosted through Century Battery Malaysia’s Facebook page where the contest is taking place.
So far, the video posted on the brand page has gained nearly 400,000 views and over 2,500 total engagement.
Making it Viral with a Malaysian TikTok Influencer
For the first time since TikTok flourished, Century Battery Malaysia leveraged the popularity of the app through a famous Malaysian influencer. Also, Sterk Production’s massive following contributed to the ongoing success of the campaign. To date, the Malaysian TikToker has a fan base of about 42,800 on TikTok and 183,500 total likes.
So, to further extend the campaign’s reach, Sterk Production also published the video on their TikTok profile.

Across all the platforms, the video posted by Sterk Production reached a total of more than 84,000 views to this point.

Using TikTok Campaign to Promote an FB Contest
In addition to its social media campaigns, Century Battery also boosted the video on TikTok as in-feed ads targeting Malaysian TikTok users.
While targeting Sterk’s followers, the brand also made sure to aim for an even wider range with TikTok ads. Based on recent reports, TikTok ads have a potential reach of over 5 million users in Malaysia.
#CarBatteryChallenge Facebook Contest Mechanics
On another note, Century Battery Malaysia kicked off its #CarBatteryChallenge Facebook contest last 23 May. The successful participants will ultimately win a Century car battery and a cash prize worth RM2,800.
To qualify, the contestant must first like the brand’s Facebook page. Then, similar to a TikTok hashtag challenge, the contestants must produce a creative video to participate. As specified in the contest mechanics, the video must not exceed 30 seconds and show their car and a Century Battery product.
Finally, the participants must post the creative video to their Facebook wall and set its privacy to public. And to finish, joiners should tag two of their Facebook friends and use the hashtags #CarBatteryChallenge, #CenturyTahanLebihLama, #CenturyBatteryMalaysia, and #StaySafeRaya.
